Privacy Notice for Job
AURA Care – Norfolk, United Kingdom
Effective Date: September 2025
At AURA Care, we are committed to protecting the privacy of all individuals who apply for employment with us. This notice explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data during the recruitment and selection process, in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
When you apply for a job at AURA Care, we collect and process personal data that is necessary for recruitment purposes. This includes information such as your name, contact details, CV, cover letter, employment history, education, qualifications, references, and any information you voluntarily share with us during interviews or assessments. We may also collect sensitive personal data where relevant, such as information about your health or the results of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, if the role requires one.
Your personal data is processed to assess your suitability for employment, conduct background checks where required, communicate with you throughout the recruitment process, and comply with legal and regulatory obligations as a registered care provider. The legal basis for this processing is your consent (by submitting your application), the necessity to enter into a potential employment contract, and our legal obligations under employment and safeguarding laws.
We treat all application data with strict confidentiality. Information is stored securely and is only accessed by authorised HR personnel and hiring managers. If your application is unsuccessful, your data will be retained for no longer than 6 months after the conclusion of the recruitment process, unless you give us permission to hold it for future opportunities. If successful, your application data will be transferred to your employee file and processed under our Employee Privacy Notice.
We do not share your application data with third parties unless required by law or where necessary for safeguarding and vetting purposes (e.g. DBS checks, regulatory reporting). We do not sell, rent, or trade applicant data for marketing purposes.
As a data subject, you have the right to access the information we hold about you, request corrections, object to processing, request data erasure (where applicable), and lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you believe your data has been misused.
